Red SLR Posted October 24, 2000 Share Posted October 24, 2000 David At the moment the govt are passing all sorts of wierd and wonderful laws which mainly effect the telecoms industry. Why does speeding have anyhing to do with phones? Well at the moment the only wat to accuratly pin point your position electronicaly is by GPS.(comercial) But in the not to distant future (12 - 18 months) mobile phones will have the same capability of a GPS unit, possibly even more accurate. With the power to access an internet based database these new "terminals" will do the same job as the GPS system but much better. The govt have tried in advance to keep this hush hush but most people in the industry know that when it comes to the internet anything goes. It will be very difficult to stop people from creating these sort of databases. http://www.gpstrapalert.com/ Have a look at this. If you really want one I would think about getting this one, but if I was you I would wait another 18 months.
