Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted July 19, 2012 Leadership Team Share Posted July 19, 2012 Anyone converted a race car with a shortened footwell to full length and have this panel lying around that they don't want? I could probably make one but easier if someone has one collecting dust! Stu.
Mankee
I was going to buy the Caterham part but ended up getting my tame metal-worker to fold up one of these for me. He actually made me two, as the first he made, he was worried that I couldn't get my riveter in. So the second he made has a slightly deeper "step" which makes the footwell a tiny bit shorter, on the order of a 1/4 inch I think. It's also slightly different to the Caterham part, as I've reused all of the original rivetting points from th long footwell. I've actually fitted the first one fine so have the second spare if you want to try it for size? From memory, it's made of 1.5-mm-thick metal. Oh, and it has a little ledge for the battery as well. Here's a fitted picture: http://images15.fotki.com/v588/photos/8/42688/10523039/DSCF2035-vi.jpg
