shift light

I'm afraid the VVC ECU is a std MGRover and as the MGF/25 VVCs dont have shift lights neither does the Caterham VVC.

You have several options. If you know someone clever in the electronics dept then ask them nicely if they'll make you a little box of tricks which can ground the LED wire (the spare one floating around near the ECU in the engine bay) when the frequency of signal to the rev counter rises above a set point somewhere around 6800rpm.

Otherwise get in touch with a company called Aces and buy one of their shift lights. They make the R300/400/500 versions for Caterham but they also do a user configurable version which is much nicer to use than a single LED - http://www.aceserve.co.uk/frames/ss2text.html. As well the sureshift2 they used to do a basic version without the control box which makes set up a bit trickier and loses the tell tale function etc. They were doing a deal on them at the Autosport show this year. If they are there again then I'll buy one this year.
