Squeaky wheel

Errm, I lost it a bit at Goodwood 2 weeks ago and slid into the barrier - hitting the driver's side front wheel and arch. Amazingly, there was no noticeable damage and I carried on the track day ok. The steering and performance seemed absolutely fine.

However, since then I have noticed that the wheel is making squeaking noises which have been slowly getting louder. I was on a track day today and noticed this especially after doing a few laps. I got a bit nervous and decided to stop.

Am I right in thinking I might have damaged my bearings? (even though they are only a year old). If so, is it an easy job to fix?

(I'm in a De Dion, Super Sprint, Xflow).

try giving the wheel a few violent tugs. Now try on the other wheel. Is there a difference 🤔

There should be movement as the tyre flexes and the steering will let it move as well but there should be zero mechanical play.

Unfortunately changing the bearings really needs a press.
