Shaking steering at 50-60mph ??

It been like this for a while, its not the wheel balancing, swapped fronts to rears etc etc.

Wheels balanced 3 times.

Changed the calipers as one was seizing, not differance.

Has anyone had a bent stub axle that has caused the same fault?

I wouldn't expect a bent stub axle to cause shake. It seems more like something is out of balance or there is play in bearings, bushes, rack etc.

Also check for buckled wheel, although you seem to have eliminated this and wheel balancing by swapping front to back.

there is play in bearings, bushes,

That'd be my guess if you've tried rebalancing etc.

You can heave away at the suspension only so much when the car is static/on the jack - but if one of the rod-arms or something is failing, you may only find out about it when the loads increase.

Have you worked out whether the vibration is 'constant' under all conditions? i.e. does it vary depending on whether you are turning left, right (both under load), going straight or braking???

And what happens at 100-120mph (the first harmonic after 50-60mph)? 😬

Ok, ive jacked up the car, found passenger side has play when holding wheel at 9 & 3 o clock

No not steering movement just play.

Once had wheels balanced a couple of times where they got progressively worse. Then the chap admitted that the machine was out of calibration and waiting for an engineer to visit.

Everything was fine after going to the next garage up the road..............
