Lee Posted October 24, 2002 Share Posted October 24, 2002 I’ve lost 3rd gear on the gearbox – but I have the spare old box in the back garden, which I want to recon and put back in and then fix the new box. Old gearbox has the short nose on it, which meant the bearing kept slipping off, wearing the input shaft and failing after a couple of thousand miles. I’m hopefully having a friend look at the innards but has anyone out there made their own nose for a short box – I’ve no idea if it’s easy to do, or can be bought from somewhere?
