Propshaft replacment

Would anyone know how to get a prop shaft in position with out removing the diff or gearbox from the chassis Iv just reinstalled the engine and box and forgot to put the prop in position first

 

Any advice welcomed

tony you will have to remove the rear axle three bolts to do the job right .

Do you mean just the three diff bolts ! will this give me enough space to slide the prop into the tunnel.

you may want to try just the two at the bottom and see if it will swing up on the top bolt

I had the same problem when rebuilding mine, we were doing it as a group and the diff got installed even though we knew it shouldn't go in yet etc etc etc.

 

Anyway, you have to take the diff out as the flange on the propshaft is too big for you to thread it in (from either top, bottom or end)

I managed to get the prop shaft in from the top, flange and all, on my SV. It must be wider in the middle.

I think the SV is a bit wider there - I sure I remember comapring with Miraz's car at the time.
