Shouldn't be that tight. Should screw in very easily and use lock nut to secure. No need for loctite.

Would be worth running a tap through if you have one the right size.

I know that just turning one through 180deg to get a new gaitor on a balljoint on my car was very tight. At the time I was thinking that the thread must have powder coating on aswell *confused*

 

It seemed like making a camber adjustment would have taken a bit of strength *redface*

 

The balljoints came ready fitted to my wishbones, but maybe a using a tap for anyone building at the moment would be a good tip.

I used enough leverage trying to undo one I managed to bend the wishbones = scrap.

 

I would recommend liberal amounts of copper grease on the new one prior to fitting to give you half a chance of getting it off again should the need arise.

 

No thread lock as the lock nut should see to that.
