Titanium7
Have 'rescued' a Honda driven CP6550ESLR Clarke Generator that was used as our office backup generator. The unit worked fine the last time it was used but has had a good 6-9 months of inactivity. The engine side works perfectly but no output from the generator. Have checked the obvious, including both the 230v and 110v outputs, the circuit breakers, voltage switch and wiring, all seems fine. Any ideas? Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 23, 2012 Member Share Posted May 23, 2012 Do you have a manual? What are common faults for this sort of kit... dodgy switches, cracked wiring near terminals, failed components on PCBs... Switches: Good dose of contact cleaner, check connectivity after throwing them a few times. Is there anywhere very near the generator itself that can you can get a voltage reading, upstream of as many switches, breakers etc as possible? Usual safety warnings. DSL
You may have to "excite" the capacitor after a long period of inactivity 😳
