Powderpuff
Does anyone have any experience of the James Whiting brake upgrade as an alternative to the Caterham Big Brake kit? Gordon
Silver 21
Gordon I think Barry Hunt fitted this kit as opposed to the caterham one Graham The not so New Competition Secretary, in fact already jaded 1700 Live Axle X/Flow, new pb at Curb, Loton Park and Shelsley Walsh in 2002
STEVE GILBERT
I have it and it works well IMHO. Useful to know the pads are the same fitment as the old Caterham AP calipers See My Zetec Power 7 Here
Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted October 22, 2002 Leadership Team Share Posted October 22, 2002 I have, and I'm delighted with them. Much better than the previous setup. Michael.
barry.h
Yup, me too. I've had them for two seasons and they've been excellent. Much lighter than the standard calipers and don't require a new larger master cylinder. Barry
Gary Furst
I spec'd them for the blackbird, and with the Pagid "Blue" pads they're as good as the AP race upgrade on my old X-flow, with the added advantages of using the standard (solid & lighter) ~£30 disks rather than the ~£200 ones (vented and heavier). Geoff Dixon
Yes I have them as well. Excellent, much lighter, better feel and more progressive.

STEVE GILBERT
Gary, how much were the Pagid Blue pads if you dont mind me asking and where did you source them? See My Zetec Power 7 Here
Asklepios
Gordon, Good though brakes are---they are not worth the money ,unless you go with the Pagids. Ask James to supply less Greenstuff ,which is poor in my experience ( and I am not heavy on brakes). Agree with comments on disc being inexpensive and suggest unless present rotor virginal,it be junked and replaced by new.
Gary Furst
Steve, I bought the pads (both front and rear) from Grandprix Racewear at Silverstone, and if I remember correctly they were about £200 in total.
