BruceW
Another quick build query. What is a Banjo bolt? I need some to connect the front brake pipes to the caliper and for some curious reason they are not numbered and labelled in the fastener pack, unlike everything else so far. Grrr. JAG
A 'banjo' bolt is a hollow bolt that allows brake fluid/hydraulic fluid to pass throught it. It will have one or two small holes drilled through the shank of the bolt, just under the head, these will connect to a central hole that then goes down the inside of the bolt concentric to the thread. It should be used with two copper washers to hold the end of the brake hose to the caliper. JAG
BruceW
I figured it must be hollow or grroved. Any idea where they should be packed in the kit? I have a feeling they are missing. Bruce
Colin Grundy
Bruce, mine were in the clear plastic box that had the brake hoses in. Also check the misc. kit pack, seems to be a dumping ground for all those obscure bits and pieces. If they are not there ring Caterham, they are excellent at dispatching missing parts immediately. Peter Carmichael
If it is widetrack with uprated brakes it doesn't yuse banjos.
