skydragon
Hi Martin, Thanks for joining the forum I'm also interested in camping there. Have you any details? Is there anywhere to park a large trailer and pitch a tent for the full weekend? Is it poosible to arrive and camp Friday evening through till Sunday evening, or is it Saturday morning access at the earliest? (sorry for the numpty questions, but I've not visited Epynt before, but am aware that the ranges may cause some access issues) Edited by - skydragon on 17 Apr 2012 22:10:
CaterBram
i've entered both saturday and sunday. traveling down on friday afternoon and wondering if we need to find an alternative site for friday night.
mctaff
Friday & Saturday nights will be fine for camping, no real facilities except basic toilets and definitely no shop! There is a pub, the Shoemakers Arms a couple of miles down the road and they do decent food.
CaterBram
thats great news, were simple folks who don't need much. but a pub is a bonus
skydragon
Thanks Martin, that's great. Much appreciated. Where do we camp exactly? (I'm guessing next to the paddock) Do you have a map reference or a link to a map for where to camp? (i've visions of me turning up late on Friday night ang getting completely lost) Cheers Chris
mctaff
I will get something posted re. the route in, may take a day or two or may be tonight!
mctaff
I never did reply to the above! Mainly because it is difficult to get a free map of the ranges online. Basically you go to BRECON, leave in a westerly direction towards Llandovery on the A40. Don't go to Llandovery!! Pass through Sennybridge and the Trecastle and turn right half a mile out of Trecastle at Llywel opposite the derelict motel. Then pass the church and go up the dual carriageway (both single lane) and onto the ranges. It will be arrowed from there.
RogerLegg
If you get lost the paddock is at 52 degrees 1 minute 12.40 seconds North and 3 degrees 35 minutes 39.14 seconds West. I fed this into my sat nav last year and it found it perfectly. It is a beautiful spot but it is very remote.
CaterBram
Well epynt's going to be a strange event this year. Just got the head's up as to who's competing, A reasonable fielding from class 1&2 but looks like both class 3 & 4 are only two horse races..... Based on who's actually registered for the championship this year Class 1 - 16 registered - 5 competing Class 2 - 12 registered - 4 competing Class 3 - 17 registered - 4 Competing - Updated 22/5 Class 4 - 13 registered - 3 competing - Updated 22/5 Class 5 - 11 registered - 3 competing Class 6 - 3 registered - 1 competing. & this must be this first event I can remember where Roger is not competing in class 2 Edited by - CaterBram Jnr on 22 May 2012 19:33:
GrahamV
Add me to class 4 - i will put an entry in when i get home on Thursday. So that will make 3 entries for Class 4 - my best result ever as '3rd in Class' GrahamV

Chris101
Graham 😳 😳 Think you might be jumping the gun a tad whilst it is true that I may possibly be able to come along and drive Custard for the first time since Anglesey, I will be in class 2B as I have not entered the L7 Championship - but it will be great to see some of the 'old' faces again 😬 😬 Just need dry weather now....and a workload that permits me to come along.... GrahamV
Whoops .... but still time to enter the championship ..... we can chat about it as we shelter from the rain in Jeremy's trailer? GrahamV
CaterBram
Chris, Might be worth checking the entry reg's 13. Entries, No Car may be entered in more than 1 class or driven by more than two drives If i'm correct then If Lynn's competing in L4 then you would also have to compete in L4.
