In the past 6 hrs have checked the following: engine getting fuel no spark when cranking coil has c.9V when cranking new distributor cap as I found the centre brush was broken the MBE & MFRU and all wiring were not removed from car battery reading 11V when cranking anyone any ideas ? have decided to sit in the sun for 30mins before I do anything daft thanks Rog Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Klunk Posted March 26, 2012 Share Posted March 26, 2012 Hi Rog, I know you've said the battery has 11v but it may be worth coupling another battery to your caterham battery to see if it will then start. If it still wont, at least that would definitely rule out a battery problem. Would be worth measuring the volts at the coil again. Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted March 26, 2012 Author Leadership Team Share Posted March 26, 2012 ok - all sorted...so car now starts 😬 - the previous owner had created a extra length of wire for the rev counter on the Stack. Once I by passed this spark returned and engine fired ......no oil pressure though.
