tonino
hi i have stripped my friends upgraded k series and i have found a broken inlet valve. just one valve has been crushed, all the others are fine (well, look fine). i guess over reeving/timing issue would have given more than one broken valve, hence why i suspect a broken valve spring.... what could be the cause? -i don't know for the moment if spings are uprated or std but engine often hits 8000rpm...- can oil starvation have a effect on springs? (H tappets obviously) merci Edited by - tonino on 24 Feb 2012 11:43:
CharlesElliott
Or broken valve spring cap? I believe they are a known weak point (they get replaced with uprated caps on even otherwise standard 120bhp race engines).
Rob Walker
I have seen several broken double valve springs on tuned K`s , the inner coil can rub against the outer eventually one will fail. I uesd to replace mine every two seasons or 3k miles
