Boris
Having had to replace the brake light switch last year (with one from car builder solutions) and having now had that one fail I'm looking for a top quality replacement switch. Does anyone know where I can buy a really good quality alternative?
BM
Might be worth a try......Mine has seemingly stopped working a couple of times (I use my car a lot) and each time I have taken it off and given it a good spray with electrical contact cleaner and it's been fine for another year or so. I think it gets dust and dirt in the plunger which stops it releasing when you press the brake pedal.
Bricol
Make sure it adjusted correctly - if not, the pedal forces the plunger too far in, distorting the inner "springy" contacts so they don't work when you - carefully dismantling of the switch, a quick re-bend, reassemble and adjust and my original is working 11 yrs later. Your local motor factors will probably have something that will fit and work for a sensible price if all else fails. Bri

Roger Ford
Suggested alternative in this thread Err, that'll be the Car Builder Solutions one, as mentioned in the first post!
TobyCoulson
Surprised it failed as it seems so well built compared with the factory fitted part.
myothercarsa2cv
This bad boy is the same as the original one on my 2CV. I've got one at home somewhere if you want it... Not sure if it can be fitted to the Caterham bracket?
Stationary M25 Traveller
The thread looks a bit short to suit the CC bracket ? I had to modify my bracket to fit the Car Builder one, which was slightly shorter. This looks even shorter still ? However, easy to modify/replace the bent bit of metal that contacts the plunger. charlie_pank
Mine's stopped working a couple of times. I just prized it apart, cleaned up the internal contacts with a bit of emery paper and re-assembled.
