8v vauxhall to 16v

swapping the heads will result in a mashed valve or 16, as there are no valve clearances on the 8v pistons.

you could change pistons as well, but thats not the end of the story - the pulleys for the timing belt are different so the block needs to be drilled and the 16v backing plate fitted. and then theres a different crank sprocket...

i dont know anyone who has done this conversion successfully, has anyone here???

best off just getting a complete 16v engine then theres only the fact that the ports are a different shape, the engine itself fits the same bellhousing, but you will need new zorst and inlet manifolds (dunno what induction you are thinking of, assuming carbs and that you are gonna want to put them on the 16v, dont ask why i assume this *confused*)
