catastrada
I'm lost and nI need your help! After a stupid treatment, my exhaust (primaries + 4-1 collector) need to be replaced. My S3 Caterham has a 2.0 Duratec. Engine was built by Ammo and the car was built by Fauld Sport in late 2005 early 2006 for one of his customer. I bought the car to this customer (I'm the 2nd owner). I called Stuart Fauld and he thinks that the exhasut was bought to Raceline. I called Raceline and they sent me a picture of the exhaust they can sell me : http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/2256/raceline2.jpg. When I compare it to my existing primaries, I see they are different. http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/8374/namethatexhaust.jpg http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2027/namethatexhaust2zu.jpg Would someone be able to tell me which exhaust I have (where to source it). I would like to avoid modifying the hole of my right skin and to remap my engine that was recently remaped by Steve Greenald... Pendennis
I don't know what you have but it isn't a Raceline system Looks like your engine is far enough back, so you could put one of their systems on though Edited by - Pendennis on 8 Feb 2012 18:59:
dannylt
Mick/Stuart will come along at some point, but I believe it was the original system from my car, built by Mick. from Cheesman, but possibly a one-off. How can the treatment have been that bad? That system was good for 250-260ish bhp.
mic
I think it is this exhaust here As Danny said it was made by Cheesman
catastrada
Thanks a lot to all of you for your valuable reply because I really need to find it as quick as possible. I will try ton contact Cheesman although I don't know if they deal directly with individuals. @Dannylt : one of my customer only does industrial treatments for parts in stainlesssteel and parts in alloy. In 2007, when I bought my R300 (Rover) they treated the exhaust and the result was really amasing. http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/6311/41avantoptihv2.jpg and http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/6392/41apresoptipz1.jpg. In 2010, when I bought my Duratec R, they did the same. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/2541/collecteur0.jpg and http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/1632/collecteur1.jpg As my engine was out (gearbox broken) this winter I gave them the exhaust to have the same treatment done. When they removed it from the bath of acid, they saw there was a http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/6681/photobkg.jpg. The parts that are mat are very thin now and when we installed the engine back in the car last saturday, during the 1st heat primaries and collector were out of order : http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/874/4en1perce.jpg. That's why I now need to source primaries and 4-1 collector (silencer is from Raceco)... Edited by - Catastrada on 9 Feb 2012 07:40:
catastrada
You're too strong guys! Yes this exhaust is 1 out of a set of 5 that were manufactured by Cheesman. Where the Raceline pipes (manufactured by Cheesman too) have a diameter of 1.75 inches (44 mm), those sets have a diameter of 1 7/8 inches (48 mm). Hopefully it will be sort out very shortly. Once again thanks a lot to all of you. (Mic I'm still waiting for you reply regarding the supercharged project). BBL
Your exhaust looks very much like mine. I always wondered from where it had been sourced. http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/Thanksgiving.jpg

catastrada
Here is the end of this story. Cheesman found the tools the used in 2005 to produce those 5 sets of exhaust and offered me to manufacture one new set. I received it 2 weeks ago and yes it's exactly the same. Very happy
