Spax shocks.

The spax shocks on the front of my live axle '96 are rubbing against the springs as the springs seem to "bow in " on one side. The spring can be moved about 2mm from side to side at the base of the damper. Is there a cure for this ? or can someone recomend a good alternative replacement shock that would be an improvement over the spax, or do I buy some new springs? If so what pounage would you recomend? Many thanks.

This is common on live-axle cars (do not know about the new-fangled de-dion jobbies). From what I could gather, even if you replaced the springs, it would recur in time. So I just coated that part of the shock with grease to prevent wear and then ignored it.

However, after months of deliberation, I am booked in to Freestyle (aka Juno) for a set of their shocks/springs at the end of November.
