Supersprint1988
Hi Kev It's a quite easy job. A search on BC will provide all the tips and tricks you need. A great upgrade for a tall seven owner 😬 Carsten
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted January 24, 2012 Area Representative Share Posted January 24, 2012 Kev Flat metal plates go under the seat runners, between the floor and the runners. Angled pieces support the floor and are attached to the front of the box section of the chassis at front of seat. Seat adjusting handles poke through the holes in these angled pieces. When I removed the old floor I trimmed about 3/4inch off the old floor and sandwiched it back between the side skin and the chassis, so that the fold in the side skin remained the same. Take the opportunity to splash some waxoyl or similar in the rivet holes of the chassis etc. Suggest you have a look at the job and post any specific questions you have. Cookie Monster
Blimey Kev - if you lower the floor you might need a cushion - see your own signature 😬

Mowerman
Cheers Paul, that explains where the bits go... Phil & Steve.... It's not the height...it's reaching the pedals...something you can relate to Steve...!! Cheers!!
Shad
Keep us posted on how you get on. I've got to do mine at some point in the next few weeks. I'm going to lay my chassis on its side though since it will be stripped out. Should help for access to the floor.
Paul Deslandes
You'll be using steel rivets for some of the fixings so buy or borrow an air powered rivet gun. I bought mine for about £30 on ebay. Otherwise you'll need muscles like Popeye. It really will make the job easier.
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted January 25, 2012 Area Representative Share Posted January 25, 2012 If anyone in the north west / north Wales area thinking of doing this job, Paul Formston near Chester does the work for a very reasonable price - plus you get the benefit of him using some aeronautical sealants for a top job. He did the blackbird a couple of years ago and the new car is booked in next week 😬
