Sam Monoogian
In preparing my engine for installation I removed the water pump to inspect it and although the condition of the impeller isn't too bad there's a higher degree of friction in it than I would have expected. The outflow channel is also quite scaled up. I'd like to either clean it up or replace it but as it looks like a pressed assembly, is there somewhere that will part exchange these for reconditioned units? I've also realised I don't actually have a radiator fan. What am I wanting to order and where do I get it from?
Revin Kevin
SAM Water pumps are readily avaliable from a good motor factors, take yours with you as they will ask what escort it is out of ( the only difference is the threads in the pulley) . There is a but though, these will probably have a pressed steel impellor which is not supposed to be as effcient as a cast impellor,if you want one of these BURTON's sell them and there a bit more expensive, I've used both on fairly well tuned road engines and have had no problem with either. As for fans again BURTON's have a good range,( BURTON's TEL 0205542281) REAL SEVENS HAVE IRON B'LOCKS CHRIS
c7kjt
Replaced mine 18 months or so back, the old one had the nasty pressed impellor, got my new one from Caterham with the cast impellor, about £31+VAT from what I remember Kevin Thomas kevin.thomas@bigfoot.com www.7gallery.co.uk
