wonkey eyed barmaid Posted October 11, 2002 Share Posted October 11, 2002 fitting the new diff tomorrow.... the manual says EP90 gear oil is required for the diff - i just called the local car shop, and they say they only carry EP80/90 now, as ep90 is an old specification of gear oil... are they talking crap? will EP80/90 be sufficient? or should I go find EP90... wonkey eyed barmaid Posted October 11, 2002 Author Share Posted October 11, 2002 cheers DD, i know comma do EP90, but neither of my local garages have it. and neither does the car shop in the next town caterham tech department say that EP80/90 will be fine though. so i'll be using that tomorrow, rather than making a 25mile trip to halfrauds... had i had the 7, for the trip to halfrauds, I would have gone "cos its better to get the right stuff" but as its the tintop, i'll not bother. its funny how journeys you used to hate, suddenly become quite enjoyable... and any journey where you cant take the 7, becomes a lot of effort... 🙆🏻 seven back on the road tomorrow though. or maybe sunday - depending on when i get finished fitting new diff, starter button, harnesses, new grille, tonneau cover, gearknob.... its funny what a couple of days off work and a credit card can turn into... 😬 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
