elie boone
400bhp for how long ? i don't want to spill the beans but all the head work is not really relevant with a turbo. if you do go for forced induction you are much better off with a compressor. Didn't the Rover 220 turbo had a cast block for extra rigidity ?
rj
If you read through the thread you'll see that he has used an 1.4 because the liners are thicker.
Area Representative skeetsy Posted December 31, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted December 31, 2011 I'm no expert but from reading the ad it appeared that most of the head work had concentrated on the exhaust valves and ports. I agree that porting the induction side of things would make little (if any) real difference with power on a forced induction engine, but surely the exhaust porting would help the exhaust gases to leave the engine more efficiently? All the best Richard
rj
Well, Yo'll have a loss even through the inlet ports. Every time you compress the air it will be heated. Hence it does makes sense to port.
gavinj
The Rover 220 Turbo did have an iron block but itn't a K series so somewhat irrelevent It's a T series which is an evolution of the 8V engine in the Montego, also found in the earlier 800 Vitesse
