seating S-type vs. Tillets, weight comparisons

I've got a pair of S-type leather's in my 7

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and replacing them with Tillets.

What I'd like to know is:

- whats is the weight comparison of leather s-type, grp tillet, carbon tillet

(ie is the carbon tillet worth the extra for the weight saving)

- I know prices each = about £380 / 275 / 395 each respectively

(so a leahter s-type with headrest is nearly as much as a carbon Tillet)

- does anyone know anyone who has bought a car that would like exchange for some shiny as new leather S-types

- is painting/colour-coding and armourfend coating tillets very expensive?

My leather seats (1990 vintage) predate the S seat but out of interest:

Leather Seats (Restall) weigh 10 Kilo each including runners with 30 x 6mm mounting strips

R500 seat

Fully trimmed - no runners or extraneous fittings

2183 gms

nice idea - I'm not bothered about adjustable seats: I take it Tillets aren't on sliders then which is where the weight saving is - like it (correct me if I'm wrong), I take it rail fittings are the same fitting as other 7 seats with Tillet's?

there have been discussions on tillet prices - i think the difference is bigger than that - GRP being a bit less 260 with vat and the kevlar over 400.

I think Steve and I had a discussion on weight as well. 100 g for the ali mounts and 800 for the adjustable. there are of course 4 in total in the car.

what do you want them for 🤔 if you do track days and aren't of a fuller figure you may find the S-type lack lateral support. The larger gent will find the tunnel does a perfect job. Also the tillets will resist water much better and you can just drill a hole in the floor of them for water to run out.
