Tyrone
Correct, but he is using the forum to advertise what he is selling somewhere else, so why not post it here first before going public.
Caesar
Hi Tyrone and Pertolhead, I am so sorry to have upset you. Just a couple of points One, I have advertised it on eBay under Motor Bike accessories as I thought I would get a better response. Two, I did use my membership privilege to alert Blatchat viewers that I had done so. and, Three, I will damn well advertise where, when and how I wish and I pay no heed to petty foot stamping from such as you. jingars
Quoting Tyrone: Correct, but he is using the forum to advertise what he is selling somewhere else, so why not post it here first before going public. Currently on the first page of this "For Sale" forum, both the two Caterhams listed are listed on Pistonheads, yet no-one seems inclined to comment upon either of those ads, which contravene the "Petrolhead/Tyrone rule". Tyrone
I will damn well advertise where, when and how I wish and I pay no heed to petty foot stamping from such as you No foot stamping on my part, I was responding to Jingars. However, I do dislike people linking for sale posts to ebay auctions, but there are no rules on BC to stop you doing it, so you are entirely within your rights. Good luck with the auction. Cars on Pistonheads are different in my opinion. Most of the people on this forum already have a 7 so you could argue that BC is not the best place to sell one. Pistonheads is a larger marketplace but a link to it might spark interest from people we know outside of the club.

Tyrone
I bought mine from here when it allowed non members, but let's not open that can of worms. Where does it say no one ever buys cars from BC?

Caesar
BOY OH BOY! What a reaction! I simply advertised something on eBay that would be most suited to a 'non 7' market, that is Motor Bike users. I thought it might help my chances of a sale to flag it up on BC since I bought it for use in a 7. Believe me, I did not want to sell this preferentially to L7C members as I don't give a toss who buys it. Now I start to see some true colours from, what I am sure is a minority, who think that, since I am a L7C member, I should offer 'special privileges' to other members. We are only members of the Lotus Seven Club and, as good as it is, it is not as someone previously said, a masonic lodge. This is a club, dammit. These forums are to share our interest in a particular marque, exchange vital technical information and have a damn good (blat)chat. The comment "I do dislike people linking for sale posts to ebay auctions, but there are no rules on BC to stop you doing it" is clearly one from a solely personal perspective but deserving comment: is there a feeling among club members that there should be such a rule? If so, I think you will regret closing this door and it will only serve to make membership to the L7C less essential. Lastly, I have to say that I am left with a sour taste in my mouth about all this. If I was a milder person I would not have bothered to respond but the reaction that was posted on the site smacks of 'spoilt child' behaviour. I think 'Petrolhead' needs to realise that he has no right to tell me how to sell something. I makes me reluctant to continue to alert members when I do have something on another selling site. It may well have that effect on others. David
Petrolhead
Jesus, what a overreaction. I was simply suggestions that you may have given the member here the opportunity to buy this before putting onto a public auction unlike Pistonhead which is not an auction site. And yes I have edited this as that was my first reaction but decided not to get drawn, however some kind member, quick on the draw, decided to post what I had first said. Maybe comments like these insite me to be rude also Three, I will damn well advertise where, when and how I wish and I pay no heed to petty foot stamping from such as you. BOY OH BOY!
