Gill E
No Simon, I think you may have made a mistake with the timetable. I think you'll find that the running order is as follows: 7 pm - health and safety inspection of the beverage arrangements 7.30pm - Dinner & Awards 9pm - Perry McCarthy I am taking my H&S role in the Club very seriously and, having done a risk assessment, have decided that you all need protecting from the hazards of attending the Champagne Reception 😬 hick! robmar
Gill - surely 6:30 H&S arrives for pre sight inspection and confiscates* all the champers just in case someone gets a nasty bubble stuck in there throat rob * confiscates = filling up the Elwell vehicle of choice with crates of the stuff

Gnasher2
Hands of the bubbly boys and girls. 😬 We have order a single full bottle and 60 straws so pucker up
Gill E
I'll only need 1straw, thank you - just make sure that it reaches to the very bottom of the bottle - I would not want to be accused of neglecting my duties and leave any of those pesky bubbles to cause harm to any other Club member or their guest. Jason Plato
so how much is this costing the club if ticket sales are low ? """"""radio silence"""""""
david nelson
Dave I am not going to the awards as it Ruben's tenth birthday. My understanding is that the speed championship will yet again put money into the coffers of the club. The event will not be subsidised by the membership. if i am wrong, i hope someone will come along and correct me. David
Mark Durrant
so how much is this costing the club if ticket sales are low ? Dave I am sure you will be pleased to hear that any shortfall in ticket sales is being covered by the Speed Championship, who even after taking account of this event, will yet again make a modest profit that will go towards the running of the club.
