Lotus Boy
Yes my blade snapped too. I think mine happened at Dunton where they have banked corners. Mine snapped at the point where the blade changes thickness at the thin end ogf the radiused section. The arb is about 10 years old as I understand it. Replacement from Gary was about £70. Are they still obtainable? Cheers David
Stationary M25 Traveller
Not from Freestyle, but someone else is advertising them ... is it 7tips ?
millsn
I got the pushrod suspension with the ARB kit. Gary said I wouldn't need it but I didn't listen. My ARB broke principally due to my poor installtion and sure enough I haven't missed it at all
NoLimits
Yes we do do a new uprated and strengthened version of the Adjustable ARB. There is a very neat strap from the blade to the bar braised on. See the website for info.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 14, 2011 Support Team Share Posted November 14, 2011 Mine has gone twice. One thing that has occurred to me is that the ARB was a very tight fit in the mounting brackets and I think it possible that a lot of the twisting was concentrated in a short length of the bar hence the failure. If it were able to rotate more freely in the mounts then the twist would be along the full length of the bar reducing the stresses at the weld. millsn
you're supposed to lap them in to avoid that - which I didn't do hence the breakage. The chassis mounts don't seem to align very well which doesn't help
N Blandin
Called 7tips today, or Meteor as they now are, spoke to v nice chap whose name escapes me- club comp sec. They have a modified arb with an extra strap around the suspect weld, should do the trick. Have ordered one, very reasonable and fair to deal with *thumbup*
