oldbutnotslow
I have been contacted by a company who would be willing to supply the following at VERY competitive prices even for a small order of say 6 of either or a mixture of both:- * 65amp alternators suitable for the Rover K engine £125 each including vat - Typical on line store are indicating £276 each * Magnatron 1kw gear reduction starter motor £135 each including vat- Typical on line store are indicating £216 each The units come with the usual 12 months warranty (except when they are used for racing purposes - this does not apply to track days) There will of course be Postage to add. These are not light items so I would expect this to be in the order of £10 but may be a bit less. These prices will include a small donation to NtL PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT MAKING A PROFIT FROM THIS As the company are about 15 miles from me I am willing to collect them and pay for them so avoiding their PP & handling charge to get them to me. You would then pay me personally. Please register your interest by posting your name (please include you full name not just your BC handle) and which you require. If there is sufficient interest I will take things further. Grant Taylor Edited by - Oldbutnotslow on 9 Nov 2011 18:09:
Roger Ford
Very interested in a starter motor if they're any good. A Brise one was on my shopping list at £215 + VAT. Will it be a direct replacement for the standard one? IE. any adapter plate needed?
Roger Ford
Why would they not be guaranteed for racing purposes, by the way? I fail to see how racing puts more stress on a starter motor.
oldbutnotslow
Roger, 1 They are the same make as the standard starter motors that were fitted to the K so yes they should be a direct replacement 2 No idea but thats what they say. Roger Ford
Maybe not then if they're standard ones, sorry. I was assuming they were an upgrade.
