kevvickers Posted October 7, 2002 Share Posted October 7, 2002 I have a 2.0 VX car and have a problem with clutch judder. When warm the clutch judders when starting in first gear. There is no problem with finding gears and is only noticible when starting from a stand still in first. If slip clutch in second, does not seem to have a problem. I guess that the clutch plate requires re-placing. Any ideas? Also what is the best way to replace clutch plate, to move engine forward or gearbox back (if possible). Any advise? Peter T Posted October 7, 2002 Share Posted October 7, 2002 check rear oil seal to see if it is contaminating clutch, are you running a dry sump with the oil tank in the bellhousing, also check your engine and gearbox mountings, if these are also worn, they can replicate the same problems you have!
