6speedmanual
Experienced some problems many years ago with the failure of an oil pressure capilary. This involved most of the contents of the sump being deposited on the carpet inside the car Eeeewwwww. Since then, I have avoided mechanical gauges like the plague! VDO guage and electric sender have proved 100% reliable over many years in two well used applications (not Caterham 7). I'm sure VDO make one which will fit M12x1.5. It may even be possible to use with existing 7 gauge, depending on the calibration. Peter
Grubbster
good point - when you buy a mechanical gauge you can specify a braided hose as an extra precaution against this - I didn't like the look of the original plastic one I had.
Dignity
Quoting Grubbster: good point - when you buy a mechanical gauge you can specify a braided hose as an extra precaution against this - I didn't like the look of the original plastic one I had. You can also specify a plastic coating over the braid to eliminate any concerns about it touching the wiring behind the dash
