mav
Barry, probably an iPad thing, but since updating to ios5 last night it's not displaying properly. Just get a white background thoughout - the formatting etc remains, just the whole background goes white...
sjmmarsh
Me too. Since upgrading to iOS 5. Steve
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 13, 2011 Member Share Posted October 13, 2011 Have you tried restoring from your backup? Jonathan
Claire Voyant
Since upgrading to iOS 5 Does that tell you something about iOS5? Or does the world (wide web) have to revolve arounfd Apple? Why does the "bug" have to be on BC rather than at the iPad end?
mav
Rollbar, it's a observation of a bug. It's not displayed properly. I don't know if it is something on bc, or with iOs 5. This is the bugs section. I've found a bug and reported it. If I'm told it's my device, and not bc then I'll get on with it. Did I say the www has to revolve around apple? I happen to be device agnostic, using windows, android, webOS and apple iOS devices in my household. I also said I think it's probably an iPad thing, so what's with the beef toward my posting? Sheesh.
mav
Jonathan I had to restore from backp last night after the os change as the iPad was dropped into 'recovery mode'
sjmmarsh
Rollbar - that was my point, I don't know whether the BC is due to the upgrade to ios5 or not (I suspect is is) but my making this connection I hoped to help other user who may have the same problem. All the other websites I have have been OK, so iOS5 isn't all bad! Steve
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 13, 2011 Member Share Posted October 13, 2011 My iPhone with iOS 5 also has the white background "In the Office". I'd guess it's a change to either the HTML rendering or the JavaScript interpreter in iOS 5. I haven't looked at many other web sites with iOS 5 yet. Rich N
Rollbar, wind it in a bit. And "me too" on the distroyed BC view since update.
spiderlane
Nothing do with iOS 5 itself, but actually with Safari 5 (which presumably comes with iOS 5). The same problem happens on my laptop (OSX Lion) and has done since I upgraded Safari
sjmmarsh
I tried deleting my cookies. It didnt fix the problem, but at least it now defaults to the yellow standard background which is easier to read than the broken one. Steve
northernmonkey
Me too - My quick and dirty fix is to click here Don't press 'In the Office' though... Edited to add clearing cookies and data in Safari settings on my iPhone worked for me... northernmonkey
Just to add it's the same for Safari on my desktop - Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) Hope that helps... (Again - no rush...)
sjmmarsh
It also seems to hang on to old pages - I keep noticing that the latest updates on blatchat are from the last time I visited the site. Clicking on the link takes me to the current messages, but I bought that I away going mad for a while. Steve

mav
Now working with ios 6. Thanks Barry
sjmmarsh
It is working on my iPad with ios6 as well now. I has to switch to the office view, then close all tabs and close safari for it to 'stick' when I moved to another page though. It must need that to update the cookie?
