Mort
Can anyone give advice on how best to remove sticky wheel weights without damaging the rims? Also, what's the best solvent to remove the adhesive that holds them on?
rj
For removal of the adhesive I use an eraser-like thing, you can get at Würth, which is used in a drill. No solvent. Paraffin and elbow grease would do, but I find it to be a PITA. To remove the metal weight I use a plastic tool from the local motor factor (less than 3£) made for this very purpose. catastrada
To remove the adhesive I'm using Eau Ecarlate. In France I guess there is a bottle in almost every houses. Allthough it's not sold for that purpose, It's perfect to remove all types of adhesives, whatever the surface (plastic, metal, glas, wood, leather...) without effort, without damage.
