Old Septimus
After 34 years the throttle cable is beginning to show its age. I want a new one made up with my existing clevises and fittings. Could a local bike/motorcycle shop do this or should I send it to a specialist? If the latter, who is recommended?
AMMO
I have an old telephone number for a company called Speedy Cables. Try 0207 226 9225. Haven't used them for years. Don't know if they are still there. They also used to do speedo recalibrations. If no joy with them another company is Venhill Engineering somewhere in Surrey (Dorking?). Same applies, haven't used them for years, don't know if they still trade. AMMO

Super_Rich_Bernie
Speedy cables moved out from Islington to the Sticks. New number is 01639 732213. The work they did for me was very good (rebuilt some instruments) but took a little longer than they had suggested. Jonathan

Bilbo
Hi Old Septimus 34 years on one cable that must be a record, says a lot about the new ones. My first one lasted say 6 years then it was 2 years, later once a year, this year twice. I am sure they are getting slowly just a very little shorter. However different car different engine. 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
