OBD and MEMS?

irrotational

Recommended Posts

I *think* K series cars have a MEMs ECU - Correct for non-throttle bodied engines (original R3/4/500 - later R300s had VVC engines with MEMS)

I *think* this has an EOBD port which is labelled as a j1962 plug or something - Correct - should be dangling somewhere near the steering column and is a large 16-way connector with nothing connected

My question is can you get out live information on revs, throttle position etc? - Yes - for EU3 cars (coil on plug) you can use a generic scan tool

Finally the cheap OBD adapter has arrieved, and I was able to do a quick test in garage. It seems that the speed is ok, about the same as on my 2006 VW disel.

I would guess that it is no more than half a second behind.

I will do an update when I get a chance to take the car for a test drive :)
