Airhog
Evening all After a couple of years of hibernation, I've got the car back in my garage and want to do a few bits to get it ready for the road again. Cambelt, not done one before, but doesn't look to difficult. Can anyone confirm the correct gates part number to replace a CDU2749. I think it's the gates 5416xs manual tensioner type? Can't get to the motor factor to check this eve, but want to get one ordered. Coolant, have had a long read through all the threads regarding this. Put simply for me, what do I need (1.6k) can't tell what's in there at the moment, except that's it's all a quite unpleasing brown Think that's it, have oil etc. It even passed an MOT last week, which was nice. TomB
If your doing the cam, you may as well do the other belt (s). TBH, Id just do a full service on it the nyou wont have to worry about servicing again. Oil replace / top up, brake fluids, sparks etc
Stationary M25 Traveller
You can get the right belts and belt tensioner from Dave Andrews (Oilyhands) - see similar thread today. Good to see another Kent Seven getting sorted
Airhog
Thanks all. Will give Mr DVA a call. Assuming I can get it all together, who knows, I may be able to get a few blats in before the new year....

Area Representative Crudders Posted September 20, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted September 20, 2011 Two years is well over the life expectancy of Caterham issue rubber coolant hoses, so this could be a good time to upgrade to silicone if you haven't already done so. Looks like I may see you at The Spotted Dog later - more ideas may have surfaced by then. Cruds aka Meatloaf
