StuB
A little job planned for the weekend! Plan to move them onto the back panel, have followed previous posts and am now armed with rivnuts and nylon bolts. One question, for the fog light do I need to loosen the petrol tank or is there enough space between it and the back panel to drill (carefully) and rivnut? Area Representative Paul Richards Posted September 16, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted September 16, 2011 Drill carefully and rivnut. You should be able to see a gap between tank and skin.
JetSepter
Would there be room to slip a bit of protective steel between skin and tank, just in case drill bites suddenly...? Just an idea, remembering some of those 'wish I had just...' moments from my past.
Jason Plato
you will probably have to take thye tank out anyway to feed the wiring ? I wouldnt bother fitting them on the back panel - the reverse light is not required for MOT and the fog can be mounted below the rear chassis member on the brazed hangers for MOT time. Z3MCJez
Surely fog can also be mounted on the roll-over bar, a la all race cars' rain lights. Jez
Wrightpayne
Stu, when I got my seven in 1998 Caterham told me they had started fitting them as too many customers had punctured fuel tanks drilling the back panel!! But why are you moving them - the back panel looks cleaner without them. Where are they fitted currently? Ian
