CRB removal

I always removed the arm from the bellhousing by pulling/cutting off the plastic retaining tube at the opposite end from the cable. You can then access the rear of the crb and flip up the spring clips.

You'll need a new plastic grommet on the rebuild

There is a 4th way.

I'm getting a local small garage to give me a written report for dvla v5 requirements, as my engine is in their eyes used even though it has never run, and the guy dropped in to see how i was getting on.

Seeing my problem he went to the van and returned with a small claw hammer and used it to pop each tab off the arm. Apparently even ford dealers did this if the crb was not going to be reused.
