Mr Locust
The plastic bodied, plunger switch operated by the top of the pedal that is. Has anyone else found this to be a consumable item when it really shouldn't be?
Garth
Mine stopped working the other day, a bit of fiddling and adjusting the strike plate so that it makes contact at 90 deg seems to have sorted it out!
TobyCoulson
I've had problems with mine and bought a replacement from CBS. Have yet to install it but it does look a lot meatier.

Garth
Toby I think the existing one has a much longer threaded section (?) so not sure the one you have ordered will reach without some adaption! Let me know how you get on! Garth

Dickie Normuss
18 years in and still going strong. They don't make parts like they used to, they're done to a cost and not for longevity.
Mr Locust
Thank you Caterham Stoke! You must get through a fair few with the fleet you run. Having had three previous, different switches fail, including plastic and brass bodied types, the only conclusion can be that the terminals aren't up to the inrush current from switching the bulbs directly on modern switches. They either failed to switch the lamps on at all or left the brake lights stuck on continuously. The latest plastic bodied switch which came in a QH box or similar from the local factor started to stick recently, so once freed off with a spray of switch cleaner I have fitted a relay locally in the pedal box. Lets see if that fixes it
