Sheds Moderator
But that's the point exactly, we are tackling it from the perspective of car enthusiasts. If I had a garage with a 1929 Ariel Model D motorcycle (I wish)inside then setting up the Amal and organising the advance on the mag would be part of the fun. That said, I don't want to have to rewire the washing machine every time I wash my shirts. No more than non motoring enthusiasts want to have to mess about with carbs, or more likely find a man who can do it for them. Most people's needs are like that wth cars. In fact ALL of us have that requirement from a car at least some of the time. On a 5am airport run in January in foul weather do you want to be worrying if it's running a bit lean? Not at any price, give me a machine that bloody works, with a heater and a roof.
Matt the bass man
Klunk/Giles I would be very happy to receive details of your steel 1800 specs/price/builder etc. If everything fits into place I could be very interested. 😬
Matt the bass man
due to recent circumstances my engine swap is now delayed. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. It has been very informative and I may well resurrect the thread again once circumstances stabilise. Kind regards to all contributors Matthew [Matt the bass man]
