Oil Presure (SLR)

gusto

Recommended Posts

On an excellent trackday at Hullavington last week, noticed my oil pressure dipping horribly towards the red on a fast 180 degree right hander. Suggestions so far are an oil cooler or an obvious, but expensive, dry sump. Any better ideas? And, yes, the oil level was correct....I thought of that.

Do a search on this site for dry sumps and pace. Andy Murphy has been trialling a dry sump by PACE which is set to retail at about 1K and should be as good in operation as the Caterham one. The only differences in either appear to be in the event of a failure. One would lead to instant loss of oil pressure whilst the other would have a second or two's warning but could be more fragile to start with. In practice both appear to be a good buy so go for the cheaper one.
