Tyre pressures..?

I feel embaressed to ask this question, but I've not found the answer easily so hopefully the vast expertise here will point me in the right direction.

I am running Yokohama A021 185/60/14's all round (Cat7 Supersprint with 165hp Dunnell Zetec), and my question is;

What tyre pressures should I be running, for road use and for track use..?

Many thanks

Clive

For road use, set them quite close to what you are actually aiming for. You won't be doing tons of work to them, so there won't be huge changes. On a track, you may need to set them as much as 8PSI below your hot target, depending on weather and circuit. None of the suggestions look wrong - on a track you may find you prefer 20 hot or 22 hot - that's a matter of personal preference. On the road you shouldn't be able to tell the difference (or you're trying too hard).

Also remember that the difference between a cool morning and a hot day can be 4PSI - that makes a lot more difference when the tyres are at 20PSI than in a tintop where you're aiming for 30ish and also makes a lot more difference than the last pound of tweaking.
