Area Representative Paul Richards Posted July 1, 2011 Area Representative Share Posted July 1, 2011 I'm looking for an interior mirror that fixes to the windscreen but is higher than the standard mirror. I have lowered seats and I have also butchered the existing mirror for it to be turned upside down to give a little more height. It's particularly important when I have luggage strapped on the boot. I seem to recall having seen an interior mirror with a ball swivel mount adjacent to the mirror and adjacent to the windscreen fixing. This would be ideal as it would allow the mirror to be moved down when the hood or showercap is on. Any suggestions?
No 6
Hi Richard, I have one of these - http://www.mirrorsforsevens.com/ Panoramic mirror sits high on the windscreen and is fully ajustable for when you have a hood on. Bit pricey though at £99 plus customs and exise tax of £27 for shipping from the USA. Gives you loads more view through the windscreen and the rear. Area Representative Paul Richards Posted July 1, 2011 Author Area Representative Share Posted July 1, 2011 Thanks Colin - I've seen these before, but a little too big and a tad on the expensive side for me.
BurwellSupersport
Hi, I just saw this post (realise its a few years old) and wondered if you found an appropriate solution - i've just been searching for the same. Thanks Mike
Jonathan Kay
Following BC recommendations I bought a Summit RV-30. Fine so far. The lever/ suction mechanism would allow it to be repositioned easily and quickly.Jonathan
Tony Whitley
I've used a Summit all the time I've had a 7, even transferring it from my old car to the new one. I prefer to have it low down.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted September 27, 2016 Author Area Representative Share Posted September 27, 2016 I ended up buying this mirror from Car Builder Solutions. Double jointed stem enables it to be raised up. Because of weight sticky pads don't work. Used a tube of mirror glue from Halfords and it is fine. OliverSedlacek
I'm considering fitting auto dimming mirrors as getting dazzled by traffic in a car as low as a Seven is a real problem.
Expat
A bit of a waste of time cos it ain't just the mirror. Everything in a Seven seems to reflect light! I try to avoid going out at night!
twincamtim
Does the Summit version vibrate much under typical driving conditions? The current mirror I have (make unknown) is useless above about 40mph as the image becomes nonsense!
Jonathan Kay
Vibration: original was good, then two replacements, including one from Halfords, were unacceptable, which is why I tried the Summit... and it's fine.Jonathan
