It provides an excellent introductory car for this type of motorsport. I bought it to provide my son and daughter with the means to start racing and my daughter obtained overall 2nd in Class 1 in the Loton Park Hillclimb Members Championship in 2010. It benefits from the following specification: Current MOT and SORN 1991 standard 1.9 GTi engine, fully serviced, minimal oil consumption, standard non baffled sump, steady idle with standard injection system with shortened induction kit. New cambelt 3k miles New starter, New battery New cerametallic racing clutch New uprated engine mounts Quaife ATB differential Standard 1.9 gear and diff ratios No sunroof OMP bolt in cage Sparco driver and passenger front seats Willans 6 point drivers harness Willans 4 point passenger harness Removable steering wheel Quickshift gear linkage Flyoff hydraulic handbrake (currently has standard handbrake fitted for roadgoing/MOT purposes) Lowered suspension Polybushed front suspension New Koni adjustable front inserts Negative camber lower suspension arms P/S quick rack Front strut brace Eibach springs Refurbished rear beam Adjustable rear Leda dampers Braking system is standard late GTi, modified to front/ rear split with compensators removed and replaced by a brake bias valve. Benefits from 1 new rear calliper, new master cylinder and much of the pipework replaced. This car is in an overall good condition but is not pristine and requires some minor body tidying. The body shell is however sound. The wheels require refurbishment and it will need a new set of tyres. The interior contains standard 205 (non GTi) rear seats but otherwise complete with original carpets and is watertight. The drivers electric window requires overhaul. The current rear silencer box is non standard but is fully serviceable. This car would require the uprated engine mounts replacing with standard items if to be used regularly on the road. Price includes a spare engine of unknown condition and sundry spares. Also available separately is a BJ twin axle trailer.
