Evacuate your 7 in 7 secs or less????

I think that when push comes to shove you'll be able to exit the 7 pdq. I know I don't have a cage, but last year when the expansion tank blew it's cap (tank used to sit on top of the old flat heater in front of the bulkhead) and I had coolant pouring over my bare legs I was out of the car in less than a second (I was in a traffic jam at the time). Most people sais they'd never seen me move so quick *eek*

After my off at Longcross I was out of the car very quickly due to fear of a fire and well before the Marshals arrived. I do not think evacuation in 7 seconds from a Caterham is a problem and this reg is probably aimed at closed cockpit cars where the cage can restrict access where bars run across the door aperture.

Joking apart I have tried timing myself this morning and my best time was 9 seconds with the seat belts off and I do not have a roll cage. ☹️ Reading the regs we will have to get out in under 7 seconds and remove the seat belts, all with a helmet on!
