The Laddie
Will this new rule impact upon some of the older, slower, larger competitors???????? I'm a little worried, if not a larger anxious

Simon.Rogers1
I also noticed this and I will be looking into it further but the way I read it yes it will be a requirement next year.
Sgt Pepper
I think that when push comes to shove you'll be able to exit the 7 pdq. I know I don't have a cage, but last year when the expansion tank blew it's cap (tank used to sit on top of the old flat heater in front of the bulkhead) and I had coolant pouring over my bare legs I was out of the car in less than a second (I was in a traffic jam at the time). Most people sais they'd never seen me move so quick
David Lynch
Quickest way out of a caged Seven straight out of the top? I can see someone demonstrating their exit acrobatics to a Scrutineer and be laid at side of car with a broken ankle or wrist. Probably me
robmar
to be honest I reckon if my car was on fire I would somehow get out of there in under 7s 😬
Mark Durrant
After my off at Longcross I was out of the car very quickly due to fear of a fire and well before the Marshals arrived. I do not think evacuation in 7 seconds from a Caterham is a problem and this reg is probably aimed at closed cockpit cars where the cage can restrict access where bars run across the door aperture. robmar
I feel a "who can evacuate there 7 the quickest" competition coming up for curb 2 sat eveninig after a few shandys... 😬
Graham Perry
Some single seaters would struggle with 7 seconds
Alan Bowler
Never mind crashing and catching fire, I reckon several competitors could be out and running towards the van in under 3s if someone shouts "free bacon rolls". AB
Charlies Angel
Another dimension to the Westfield Challenge? Do they have any competitors under 5' 2"?
RogerLegg
Joking apart I have tried timing myself this morning and my best time was 9 seconds with the seat belts off and I do not have a roll cage. ☹️ Reading the regs we will have to get out in under 7 seconds and remove the seat belts, all with a helmet on! Atinod
If ending up on your back next to the 7 with your feet in the air is an acceptable conclusion, then no problem.
