Removing 4 speed live axle gearbox

I don't think so - never managed it with mine.

The engine and gearbox can be separated enough to change the clutch without taking the engine out (though you do take most of the skin off your knuckles on the bell housing).

It's engine out for my vauxhall engined live axle car... Only took 2.5 hours on my first solo attempt though, from driving into the garage to plonking the gearbox onto the bench.

Look on the bright side- it gives you a chance to check/inspect/replace/clean/paint things which you otherwise couldn't!
