Wiring diagrams/help

I hope someone out there can help...

I need to identify the connections going through the multi-way connector which attaches the engine wiring loom to the main loom on a Caterham (and indeed, any other Lotus 7 variants).

On a Caterham, this should be a black 13 pin plug (pre-96) or a grey 14 pin plg (post-96).

Specifically, I need to know which pins are used/not used and what the connections are for.

It would help to have a diagram which clearly shows whihc pins are which, as I can't find any pin numbers on the connectors I've got.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please contact me at this address: trapper@dial.pipex.com

For the grey 14-pin plug...

Pin 2 goes to pin 25 on the ECU connector (coil driver)

Pins 3 & 14 go to the relay module, appear to connect to separate parts of the starter relay circuitry

Pin 4 goes to pin 13 on the ECU connector (immobiliser)

Pin 7 goes to the coolant temp. sensor (the one used by the gauge)

Pin 8 goes to the oil pressure sensor

Pin 9 goes to the inertia switch

Pin 11 goes to one of the alternator connections (don't know which)

Pin 13 goes to pin 11 on the ECU connector (ignition sense) and the fuel pump relay in the relay module

The pin layout appears to be thus, looking into the plug on the engine loom:

______/_n_/_______

.....3......2......1......

..7.....6......5......4..

.11...10......9......8..

....14.....13....12.....

-------------------[]------

At the top centre of the plug is the clip, bottom right a locating tab.

Hope this helps a bit.

On my 2001 K-series with Stack instruments its almost the same as Mike listed it (basically oil temp added);

1 - oil temp

2 - Tacho

3 - Starter relay (GND via immob)

4 - Immob signal to ECU

5 -

6 -

7 - Water temp

8 - Oil Pres

9 - Fuel Pump (maybe via inertia sw)

10 -

11 - Alternator lamp/rotor

12 -

13 - Fuel pump relay coil & ECU +VE (+ve switched)

14 - Starter relay coil (+ve switched/crank)
