re-packing silencer?

I failed to get on the track at Castle Combe today (103dB - 109dB with their suggested muffler!!) How, or where, do I re-pack the silencer with wadding as it seems to be lacking padding?

Any suggestions??

As a result of said failure, I ended up at Silverstone to watch the historic racing. Plenty of other 7's and a good atmosphere too, so not a total disaster *wink*

I have repacked a techcraft silencer recently for a Goodwood quiet day and reduced the noise by 5dB!

It's a simple enough job if you have a repackable system (sounds obvious I know).

Simply open up the silencer at the exhaust end, gasp in amazement that there appears to be nothing inside at all except a few black bits of old loft installation, and refill with exhaust wadding (£35 a box from DT) making sure you wear gloves (and long trousers I later discovered) as it itches like hell.

Instant result and no power loss!

If you have a non repackable silencer, I think you're probably screwed!
