Support Team Shaun_E Posted April 19, 2011 Support Team Share Posted April 19, 2011 Following my engine upgrade I have the following used parts for sale: Complete set of standard VVC valves (inlet 31.5mm, exhaust 27.3mm). These are in good condition and all straight. £140 Set of Piper single valve springs - £75 Set of VVC hydraulic followers - £100 It's hard to value this stuff so I will consider reasonable offers
Mankee
Hmm. I need some Piper springs to take their 285-spec cams in the nearish future. Do you have some steel caps as well? Oh and what sort of mileage have they done and how old are they? I know it shouldn't matter. Edited by - Mankee on 19 Apr 2011 19:28:
Support Team Shaun_E Posted April 19, 2011 Author Support Team Share Posted April 19, 2011 Yes I've got the caps as well. I'll need to check with Dave Andrews exactly what they are but they came off an engine with BP285H cams (hydraulic followers). If they are the right ones then how about £110 for the springs and caps. They've done about 20k miles over 5 years. The engine had an 8000rpm limit.
Mankee
That'd be great if you could check please, Shaun. I'm planning on using hydraulic followers and I think both sorts of Piper caps will work OK, but I could be wrong! Let me know what you find out. Support Team Shaun_E Posted April 19, 2011 Author Support Team Share Posted April 19, 2011 Just checked with Dave and the caps are stock - sorry.
Mankee
Not to worry about the caps, Shaun. But it's good to know that the standard (VVC I assume?) caps will take many miles and revs with the stiffer valve springs. I'll drop you a note later today about the springs when I get home. Mankee
Sorry, but I'm going to have to withdraw interest from this one because the deposit for my new house is being requested a few weeks ahead of schedule. Good luck with the sale though.
