RoyH
The pads on my R500K have never instilled confidence, either on road or track. As far as I'm aware I believe that they are the standard Caterham offering. Can I please have some suggestions for a good replacement? The majority of use would be road, with a few track days a year. Stationary M25 Traveller
Are these standard calipers or big ones ? Mintex M1144 are the next step up from standard pads on the fronts.
Sheds Moderator
Pagid are generally raved about, expensive but on road you'll get 10k out of a set at least, so £120 an axle is child's play. As above Mintex 1144 are great at £30-40 a set. Ferodo do something similar, are they D2000 or similar?
RoyH
Ian, If you mean big brakes, I'm pretty sure that these are supplied on the car as standard. BOS, thanks for the tips. I havent heard great things about pagids on Caterhams, though.
Slipper man
Roy - if the brakes are not feeling that good, you may have some air in them. The standard R500 pads are just fine. I had issues with mine for many years untill Andy MacMillan showed me how to knock the final air bubbles out of the calipers. Made all the difference (assuming you have the race master cylinder - if not, get one fitted as it rs storms the brakes)
