Only heard of PC's suggestion after sealing and filling with oil when i built MY 51VEN. Winters coming though. MY 51VEN - SLR Give it some WELLY! " - exactly what I did with mine some years ago (although the block on top isn't so much bonded as bolted with small countersunk head bolts & lots of sealant).
