The Pikey
When the engine is cold (say 10 deg) the Stack oil temp shows 0 deg then a minute or two after start-up the temp goes straight to 12 deg and rises from there on. This does not happen all the time and also applys to the water temp sometimes. I have checked the ground supply to the sensors and all is well. I have also changed one of the sensors and its still the same. The sensors are the big brass two wire type. Anyone got any ideas? Jason

spiderlane
Hi Jason, The stack sensors only start reading at their bottom limit; the Owners Manual states ... NOTE: The minimum oil and water temperature for which the display gives a true reading is 12°C or 53°F. The unit displays temperatures that are less than this as 0°C or 32°F. Pendennis
Jason, there is a minimum temperature that if and when below the dash would not display. The temperature needs to be above those low limits before it would register. The oil temp would be the same, I cannot remember exactly but thought it was around 20c Edited by - Pendennis on 30 Mar 2011 21:21:
The Pikey
Well it seems you lot know more about Stack stuff than Stack themselves. I phoned Stack with the same question and it was "Humm it's not supposed to do that, buy a new sensor" Thanks Gents jason
